Two options I’m looking at:

1. Foutz Motorsports 3/16" aluminum skid kit

2. Borne Off-Road 5/32" steel transmission skid

I’m leaning toward the Foutz aluminum kit because it’s more of a full belly/transmission/transfer-case setup, and it includes a transmission crossmember support/mount plate instead of just protecting the transmission pan. My understanding is that the crossmember itself can bend in heavy rock contact, so reinforcing that seems more useful than just saying “steel is tougher.”

Anybody here run either one? Would you choose the Foutz aluminum setup for the reinforced crossmember, or go steel for repeated rock hits?

This is what I get... Didn't occur to me until I got "Big Blu" home that the Blåhajar just picked a Raptor colored like them!

Not sure what they think they're doing now or how this is gonna work... Oh, wait. Ok. Axl has claimed pedal-operator since Brünnhilde can't reach.

Hold up - Sven is now trying to pull rank. He's reminding Axl that he has a PhD, making him better suited to work the pedals, while Axl with his P.M.P. would be better suited to supervise the driving from the passenger seat.

Its steering failed this weekend, and it gave its life to protect my buddy and me.

I wanna honor its legacy by buying another first-gen Raptor, orange and extended cab preferred, into which can transfer a lot of KILDZR2's upgrades (rock sliders, upholstery, skid plates, etc.)

Is anybody interested in selling their old first-gen?

2. Do y'all have some really f'd up jokes about it to help me move past and make peace with losing my baby? For instance - we lost my brother in an accident last Summer. The family blames his death on not wearing a seatbelt. However, I was of course wearing a seatbelt and walked away with only minor scratches. Apparently, God decided there needed to be a control variable in the family! It seems that seatbelts really do save lives 😭🤣
