Is this appropriate for a South Indian wedding?
Hello. I am a white lady with zero clue. I need advice.
I'm going to a three-day long wedding near Bengaluru in a few weeks. For the engagement party a few months ago, I bought this saree. I was a bit flustered in the shop and I think the woman who sold it to me was a bit disengaged, but I liked the fabric.
I've now been doing some research and it seems like red/gold is inappropriate for someone who isn't the bride to wear? Or would it be appropriate to wear to the jaanavaasam or some earlier part that isn't the wedding itself?
Edit: I tried to attach a photo but that got taken down. It's quite bright red with gold zari work. Pretty elaborate.
I also showed it to a woman in another shop and she said it was quite bridal and also old-fashioned...
Maybe I'm overthinking it but I obviously don't want to commit a faux pas.
(I can see I'm meant to add flair but it isn't letting me...)
