For your internship reviews, seminars, and BTech final-year projects, be aware of professors who pressure you into publishing research papers and including their names.
SPPU GUIDELINES/SYLLABUS DO NOT MAKE RESEARCH PAPER PUBLICATION COMPULSORY FOR EVERY STUDENT. If someone claims otherwise, ASK THEM TO SHOW YOU THE OFFICIAL RULE!
THEY USE YOUR MONEY, YOUR TIME, AND YOUR HARD WORK for their own personal benefits — career growth, salaries, publications, and improving their college's rankings.
And what do YOU get in return? More pressure, more work, and threats to your marks, placements, and higher studies if you refuse!
One such professor called me into his cabin and explained how publishing a paper would benefit me — BUT INSISTED THAT I INCLUDE HIS NAME AND HER BF'S NAME(ANOTHER FACULTY IN SAME DEPT).
IF THEY GENUINELY CARED ABOUT YOUR CAREER, THEY WOULD TELL YOU TO PRACTISE DSA, MAINTAIN A CONSISTENT CODING RECORD, PREPARE FOR PLACEMENTS, AND BUILD A GOOD PROJECT.
But NO! They want a research paper!
They don't care whether your internship is going well, whether your project is actually complete, or whether you are learning anything useful. Some may even tell you to write things in the paper that aren't true just to get it published { LIE IN THE PAPER SHOW FAKE WORK}.
And if you fail to publish it? THEY CRITICISE YOU. If you refuse? THEY THREATEN YOU.
I've been warned by seniors about similar experiences, and I don't want my juniors to go through the same thing.
IF PICT REALLY CARES ABOUT ITS STUDENTS, THEN LET STUDENTS' NAMES STAND ON THEIR OWN RESEARCH PAPERS - ONLY THERE NAME WITHOUT FACULTY OR COLLEGE NAME, WITH AUTHORSHIP BASED ON ACTUAL CONTRIBUTIONS. Let students receive the credit for their own hard work instead of pressuring them to include people who haven't meaningfully contributed.
THAT'S WHEN WE'LL SEE WHETHER STUDENTS' CAREERS ACTUALLY COME FIRST — BEFORE ANYONES PHD.
YOUR FINAL- REVIEW/SEMINAR/YEAR PROJECT IS NOT A TOOL FOR PROFESSORS TO BOOST THEIR OWN CAREERS!
If a professor says research paper publication is compulsory, ASK FOR THE OFFICIAL SPPU RULE. If someone threatens you or misuses their authority, document EVERYTHING and expose the facts.

JUNIORS, DON'T SACRIFICE YOUR CAREER, YOUR TIME, AND YOUR MENTAL PEACE FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S PERSONAL BENEFIT.
⚠️ DON'T STAY SILENT. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. DOCUMENT THE EVIDENCE. EXPOSE THE MISUSE OF AUTHORITY.
