Would I be foolish to think this gradual increase in MCAT score is real?

Would I be foolish to think this gradual increase in MCAT score is real?

Hey all. I test on Saturday. My goal score is minimum of 126/127 in each section to be eligible for Western. Only IP Ontario. I took FL 4 yesterday and plan to review it today after my 9-5. I've been taking FLs every other day for about a week, and have improved on average 2 points each time but the section I improve in is always variable (breakdown below)...

In this one, I thought the CP section went decent, I was expecting around a 124 or 125, but I though BB was very tough, I didn't know a lot of answers and most of them were 50/50, so I was extremely shocked to see the 128 there. Is that normal?

Feeling very fucked 10 days out from mcat

In desperate need of some help. I am testing in 10 days (Aug 22) and my date cannot be changed because it's the only one available in several hours radius of where I live (not an issue of test dates being full, they are not being offered so i cannot change or postpone).

I wrote my first attempt in August 2024 and scored 499 (122, 125, 126, 125). This time, I really need a 508+. I started studying at the beginning of June alongside full-time work. I was trying to learn the content by doing the jack sparrow and mr pankow decks, and practice questions were through full length exams as I can't afford the typical practice q banks right now

https://preview.redd.it/nmepepagxrih1.png?width=2142&format=png&auto=webp&s=d7c15dcb4f9dce292bf7cfad23da52a1bbaed659

I have done a few third party tests and was feeling very discouraged by my score. However, everyone told me the exams I was taking were deflated, and I'd see a 5+ point increase once I switched to AAMC. I took my first AAMC exam (the free one, which I think used to be FL 1?) and I dont think i've felt this frustrated with myself or stupid in my life.

I do not know what to do.

MCAT: Altius FL1 to the real deal

Hey all!

I wrote the MCAT for the first time in August 2024 and scored 499 (122, 125, 126, 125). I really struggled that summer, I took an online course to prepare for the exam and it involved these 3-hour lectures that would teach the content during the week for around 2/3 months, and then I would take FL exams on the weekends. I don't think this method worked for me. In May 2024, I took an AAMC exam as my diagnostic and scored 486 (120, 125, 120, 121), and then hit the 490-500 range in July on my Altius and AAMC FLs, and plateaued at that until my exam. My first time writing, I dedicated the summer to that.

I hadn't looked at any MCAT-related content since the start of June of this year when I decided to rewrite alongside full-time work. I'm trying to learn the content by looking at the Jack Sparrow and Pankow decks. I know that I have content gaps still. Especially in C/P.

I took the Blueprint half-length as a diagnostic two weeks ago and scored 493 (120, 125, 123, 125). This weekend, I took the Altius FL1 and scored 498 (124, 123, 126, 125). I found it incredibly difficult, CARS felt like I was reading a different language, C/P I was guessing 85%, but I'm quite disappointed that my score in B/B and P/S didn't improve much despite those being the areas I was actively doing cards for since my last practice exam to now. I was very surprised to score better in C/P this time despite doing no extra prep in that section.

My goal score is a 508 with minimum 127 in each section. I'm not looking for a 'quit while you're ahead', but starting to assess if this is feasible by August 21 (my test date), or if I should seriously adjust my expectations.

Trying to go from a 493 (Blueprint half-length diagnostic) to a 508

Hey all. Looking for some advice please on writing my second attempt at the MCAT on August 21.

I wrote for the first time in August 2024 and scored 499 (122, 125, 126, 125). I really struggled that summer, I took an online course to prepare for the exam and it involved these 3-hour lectures that would teach the content during the week for around 2/3 months, and then I would take FL exams on the weekends. My first time writing, I dedicated the summer to that.

I hadn't looked at any MCAT-related content since the start of June of this year when I decided to rewrite. This time, I'm not doing the course. I have been trying to learn the content by reviewing the Jack Sparrow Anki deck. If I see the cards enough times, some of them are starting to stick, but it requires me looking at them a LOT of times to remember. Some of the information has come back to me from last time I learned it, but I still have a long way to go in terms of the content.

I took the blueprint half-length exam today and scored 493 (120, 125, 123, 125) which is pretty disappointing. I'm testing in less than two months, and I need to score at least a 508 this time with minimum 127 in each section. I know that my current method is not working and I really need some help an advice on what to do from here. This time, I'm studying alongside full-time work. I have from around 6:30/7pm until I go to bed (11pm) to study on weekdays, and all day weekends essentially.

Any thoughts or input would be massively appreciated, thank you.

Looking for advice on creating my study plan

Hey everyone

I am looking for some help on making my MCAT study schedule. I wrote for the first time in August 2024 and scored 499 (122, 125, 126, 125). I studied for it that summer taking a course (I would attend 3 hour lectures on the content every weekday, and do practice tests on the weekend) and studying was my full-time job.

This time, I'm studying alongside a 9-5 job, and I am testing on August 22nd. I don't have very many materials, I'm buying the AAMC practice bundle but I can't afford much else. I really struggle with chem and physics (clearly), but all of the content comes quite difficultly to me - I haven't looked at any content since 2024 and I will be learning everything essentially from scratch. My goal is a 510 and I need a 128 in CARS this time.

Looking for any and all advice on the plan below - I asked a few AI platforms to create one for me based on the areas I struggle with. thank you all for your help and wishing everyone writing/applying/thinking of applying/living their life the very best of luck.

1) CARS

  • Do 1 passage daily on Jack Westin (free)
  • Then:
    • write 1 sentence: “main idea was ___”
    • write why each wrong answer was wrong (1 phrase only)

2) Anki

  • Do ALL reviews due that day
  • If new: max 30 new cards/day

  • Write from memory:
    • structure (draw rough)
    • 3-letter + 1-letter codes
  • Stop only when you can get 20/20 consistently

4) Error Log – 10 min

After every practice set:
Write:

  • What topic was tested?
  • Why did I get it wrong?
  • What rule fixes it?

MAY 28

  • C/P: units + dimensional analysis passages
  • Fix: unit conversions rules

MCAT test date - full

Hi all - I originally wasn't writing my MCAT this summer but am now needing to write at the end of August - however there are no available slots AND the waitlist is full for all of the centers even somewhat close to me.

Does anyone have experience getting a spot in this case? Is it likely?
