[Funny Trope] “I told you not to do that.”
i love when someone gives a really clear warning, the other person does it anyway, and then immediately gets exactly what they were warned about.
Charlie and Jeremy (Smiling Friends). when Charlie gets to Hell, Jeremy gets in his face and starts screaming at him, so Charlie tells him that if he does it again he’s going to punch him. later Jeremy does it again, and Charlie immediately punches him.
Rick and the Secret Service agent (Rick and Morty). when the President orders an agent to arrest Rick, Rick tells him he can refuse the order, warns him that he’ll die if he touches him, and says, “Don’t do it.” the agent touches him anyway and immediately drops dead.
Peter and Kyle (Family Guy). Peter goes to confront Kyle after he bullies Chris and tries talking to him normally, but Kyle keeps mocking him. Peter tells him “Shut up, Kyle,” then warns him again with “Kyle, I said shut up.” Kyle keeps going and Peter immediately beats the shit out of him.
[Funny Trope] Enemies when they’re off the clock
i love when two characters are enemies because of what they do, and then the second there’s no reason to fight they’re completely normal with each other.
Ralph Wolf and Sam Sheepdog (Looney Tunes). spend the entire workday fighting over the sheep, then the whistle goes off and they immediately stop, clock out together and say goodnight. next morning they clock back in and start fighting again like nothing happened.
Ralph and Felix (Wreck-It Ralph). spend all day playing the villain and hero of Fix-It Felix Jr because that’s literally their job. once the arcade closes they stop playing their roles and just go back to their normal lives.
Wreck and Nice (To Be Hero X). they both joined TREEMAN wanting to become heroes, but Wreck ended up being cast as Nice’s villain and their fights were staged to build Nice’s Trust. off camera they’re still best friends and just hang out normally.
