I found a LOT of oakmoss in the forest- any advice on how to extract an absolue from this?

Basically title. I already let it dry for 2-3 days. Went on a trip to the east of France, in the mountains, and after a large thunderstorm this week, the entire forest path was covered with patches of oakmoss. The end goal would be to make candles, since the use isn’t IFRA restricted (cat. 12). Any tips are welcome!

Applied for Givaudan - now what?

Hi all!
Im re-navigating my career towards my dream of becoming a perfumer. I just applied for Givaudan, but a contact there who referred me told me it could take months or years before you hear anything back.

In the meantime, I’d like to keep active, by learning as much as I can and networking, to increase my chances to eventually become a perfumer.

About me: 32f, living in Belgium (3hrs by train from Paris) • fluent in English & Dutch, b2 level French

Education:
College: Bachelor in laboratory sciences, biomedical (+took extra chem classes)
High school: Artistic degree, architecture and visual arts

Job timeline: Pharma, first lab then commercial roles (business development & marketing)

During a sabbatical year in 2023, I worked for a niche fragrance store where I got to know 800 niche fragrances, and got trainings from niche brands such as Amouage and Diptyque. I really built my olfactory vocabulary here.

Current workplace: Scent Marketing, where I’m active in olfactory branding, mostly working with multinational clients and consulting a branding strategy through scent. Sales/marketing role.
This is where I came in contact with Givaudan, our supplier.

I did some experimenting with DIY fragrance at home, but lacked the materials, however I did recently do some courses, although they felt a bit more ‘just put together what feels right’ in stead of learning how to build a formula.

Ofcourse, I know ISIPCA exists and im willing to relocate, BUT but I lack the funds to relocate AND having to pay an insane tuition fee.

Any recommendation for additional courses, trainings or anything that could help me get closer to my dream is very welcome! 🙏
