I'm thinking about reading Bag of Bones, but I've seen a lot of mixed opinions on it.
Without spoilers, would you recommend it?
I know Revival is one of those Stephen King novels that really divides readers. Having just finished it, I have to admit I was pretty disappointed.
The book is fairly long, and until the last 30–40 pages I honestly couldn't understand why King was telling this story. It felt like it didn't really have a clear direction. Once I reached the ending, I definitely thought it was the strongest part of the novel, but not strong enough to make me reevaluate everything that came before it.
The earlier sections aren't bad, but the whole book constantly feels like it's about to take off... and then it just stops. It builds momentum, slows down, builds again, and slows down once more.
I did really like the protagonist. He actually reminded me a bit of Gard from The Tommyknockers, who is still my favorite Stephen King protagonist.
Overall, I'm left feeling conflicted. I still can't decide whether I genuinely disliked the book or whether I actually appreciated it more than I realize.
What do you all think?
Hi everyone! With the third book in The Talisman series coming out, I was thinking about finally reading The Talisman since it's one of the few Stephen King books I haven't read yet. Would you recommend it? Is it worth reading?
