What’s going on?
I have a mission fig tree that’s been bearing fruit for 2-3 years. I noticed this today and was wondering what it was. I’ve no doubt the tree is healthy, I’m just curious.

I’ve been growing a paulownia tree. Where I live (AZ) they aren’t invasive and this is a sterile variety anyways. It’s been growing three trunks and I’m wondering if I should cut some of them down because it may affect the stability.
I should also add - for those concerned about water usage, I don’t water this more than any of my other trees and it’s still doing fine. It’s on drip irrigation for 10-20 minutes a day.
