on prayer, and several other questions.
good now! so, for some background: ive been a worshipper of lord dionysus for a good few months now, and i've been meaning to get closer to him via prayers outside of the odd offering here and there. i am an ex-catholic, and the teachings of the catholic faith is still very much embedded into me
back then, i more often prayed for things like general protection and guidance as i was taught that god is an all-encompassing being— i'm not entirely sure how to approach the same sorts of prayers when i'm led to believe (understand?) that dionysus has his specific domains. may i still pray to him for things like physical protection and guidance, and be soothed that my prayers are heard? or must i invoke the name of a separate god entirely if it is not in his domain (may i still do that if i don't worship them?)
i'm also curious if the gods are omnipresent and/or omniscient. i'm inclined to believe that he is generally there, but the whole "invoking the god's presence" makes me think otherwise. have i been going about it wrong? or is simply believing that dionysus is around, and thus doing things in his name, good?
thank you to those who answer, bacchic blessings. ^_^
TLDR: how do you pray to a hellenic god?
