Made the two hour drive to see one of my heroes, despite some other users’ warnings. I got there less than an hour before the gig, and was able to get updated seats due to the section I paid for being closed. As someone with a disability (cerebral palsy), the accessibility problem was way better than I expected. I got seated, and turned off my phone for the most unique concert experience of my life. I sat next to a lady who had seen him 90 times and counting, and she told me “I get absolutely lost when he plays.” Boy did she. His new guitarist, Joel Paterson is mesmerizing, and Tony Garnier was enthusiastic as he was locked in. Anton Fig’s drums sounded booming, and even had a latin style shuffle to some songs. Bob wore his trademark grey hoodie, with the hood up for the entire show. THATS commendable, considering the Oklahoma weather! It was a lot of minor key blues renditions of new and old stuff, and Paterson could transition from Jazz to Country style playing seamlessly. Bob even whipped out the harmonica for a couple of songs, which was much appreciated by the crowd and myself. He never came out from behind the piano, only to bow with the band at the end. The crowd, consisted of many boomers, most likely not privy to the modern Dylan performance. I even heard one guy yell “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?” After the 90 minute set concluded. The two classic tracks that I recognized were “It ain’t me babe” and “To be alone with you.” Even if you couldn’t understand the words, you could still be immersed by the chemistry of the band. Also, thank you to the user who made the playlist of the setlist! I’m so happy to know I was among likeminded people at the show, and thank you to the noble heroes who put themselves on the front lines to snag a concert pic🫡🫡🫡
