My Employer changed our attendance policy and did not notify staff, including management. How enforcable is this?
As in the title, I work in England, my employer of 18 months changed their attendance policy, most notably on sickness. On the 18th of Sept I took sickness. In my return to work meeting, my manager confirmed I had not triggered the sickness policy.
Two days ago I recieved an invite from HR saying I triggered the sickness policy and was invited to a meeting to discuss. I was informed the policy was changed on the 15th of Sept, but no management or staff was aware of this change (confirmed in writing my manager was not aware)
A possible outcome of this meeting is dismissal.
Is this policy change enforcable under these circumstances?
