Standard Of Care/Ethical Question Please

Is it standard care or ethical for my nurse practitioner/ psychiatrist to refuse to see me until 6 weeks while I started Welbutrin- even after she was informed of much anxiety? She stated that while starting new meds that one won’t know… until 6 weeks. I asked to be put on Buspar as I have two different issues, but she refused to add it to the Wellbutrin stating that one wouldn’t know what the medication’s were doing if started before the full six weeks. I know that she’s trained with that information, but it seems as if she is not putting all the training and knowledge together, and she doesn’t have the full education and training that a Psychiatrist would have. I would have added BuSpar to Wellbutrin after a week if the patient was having much anxiety during the initial startup. Thank you everyone.
