Hello,
I’m planning a trip to Big Bend in mid December and was wondering if there was much of a difference temperature wise between camping in the Chisos Basin or Rio Grande Village. Does the elevation make Chisos Basin a lot colder at night? Also, i’ve heard Chisos is usually pretty crowded in December. Would Rio Grande be a better option if I’d like to camp somewhere a bit more peaceful? Very open to hearing about any other campgrounds in the park yall might suggest, especially anywhere that would be best for stargazing. Went for the first time this past May and stayed in Terlingua. Absolutely loved it but would like to stay somewhere with as little light as possible at night. Thanks!
