Basically the title of the post.

I really hate summer and summer is coming here in Australia. I adore European winter (last time I was in Europe I was in Scotland in December before diagnosis).

I hate summer even more now with all the hot flashes.

I wouldn't be in London - the plan is to drive around southern England, visiting castles, and Downton Abbey/Bridgerton/Jane Austen estates and such. We'd be there for 12 weeks roughly, between scans.

But is it crazy? Would I be putting myself at high risk of getting ill?

I'm not sure what to make of friends who just don't check in. A friend I've had since 1998, just checked in, after 6 months. I was diagnosed in Feb 2025. She saw me just before my diagnosis. Actually it was her doctor husband who encouraged me to see my family doctor asap, I could barely walk properly that day in early Feb (brain metastasis).

I truly understand that people have their own lives and worries. But this sort of diagnosis came with a prognosis of 3 - 16 months, 16 being if the treatment started working.

Well it has been working and really well. And the last thing I want to do is feel sad, angry, disappointed and resentment towards anyone. But I feel so abandoned!! And it's hard to shake.

Have any of you had this experience? How did you/are you coping with it?

I had a bilateral oophorectomy Salpingo last Monday. I chose to have it done so I can stop Zoladex.

Got back pathology today (didn't even know they were going to do pathology), and the same cancer was in those ovaries and one fallopian tube. Surprise!

The surgeon's receptionist assumed this was the reason I had the surgery in the first place. Poor thing when I told her no, I had no idea. She felt bad.

My husband assures me that being stage 4 means it was already there, it hasn't just come about or been missed. But I don't know.

Has anyone else had such a fun surprise?
