The Health Center allowed a doctor to violate a transgender student
I was a student in 2016, I am a female to male trans person, the doctor assigned to me was Thomas Schneider, he is now retired but continued to work there about ten years after this incident. I fell and my tailbone was hurting so I made an appointment, I was expecting a talking visit, Dr. Schneider manipulated me into letting him do a rectal exam, and the way he did the exam was not protocol whatsoever. He came up to me, used his own hands to expose my private parts and stared at my exposed genitals the entire exam. With this exam the patient is required to be given a gown or a sheet to cover themselves with, I was not offered this. He did not explain how a rectal exam even works, he just came up to me and started doing it, it was so unbelievably traumatic. He had made odd comments before like "I find the hormone process fascinating" I felt like I was a tour guide for him. It upsets me Western let him get away with this and keep working there, my dad said he obviously had a sick interest in me. This trauma is so difficult to deal with, and I feel it's so unfair this happened to me during school and I'm still dealing with it. I also read a review on google that the health center leaked another student's sexual assault file notes. I have described the exam to trauma therapists who then referred to it as sexual assault. Do not trust the health center, thank you for letting me vent.
