Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen combine for 4 FGA in the second half after going 8-14 in the first half.
After starting off 8-14 the Cavs stop getting the ball down low and only shooting 2-4 in the entire second half from Mobley and Allen. Mobley on multiple occasions begging for the ball under the basket with Brunson on him and no pass his way.
Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen take a total of 4 shots in the second half after starting off very strong.
Why did we stop trying to score inside with Mobley and Allen after they started off very strong. We always do this. Start with some easy scoring then Mitchell shoots us out of the game in the second half. USE YOUR BIGS
After watching Knicks Vs Pacers ECF I noticed the pacers didn’t try attacking Brunson but instead attacked Robinson and Towns on the perimeter. Could that be the answer for Harden and Mitchell?
When Jalen Brunson had the ball they would also quickly double then back out to steal the ball when Brunson tried passing inside to Towns or Robinson. Staying in the double gives the Knicks too much time to find an open shooter but following the pass who you know is getting the ball allows for turnovers.
The bad news they made history with a devastating loss. The good news is you got it out of the way early and statistically won’t lose in that fashion again. Put it behind and power forward. Each game is a new life. We had things that worked and now shown what doesn’t. Learn from it.
A blow out is less devastating than a loss like this but atleast you can learn from it. We had things that worked to get that lead all while not really shooting our best to get there in the first place.
I wouldn’t call that lead we took a Cavalanche kind of game it was more of a slog and a surprise we were up. We weren’t shooting lights out but we did play good defense and were getting a ton of good shots that weren’t going down.
The fourth the Knicks started hitting shots and finding the matchups they wanted. We gave it to them and yes that’s inexcusable, But it is fixable.
Coming back home 1-1 or 2-0 is what we expected. That doesn’t change after this game.
Have to give credit for Harden at age 36 having the most Minutes on the team and second most in the playoffs.

Lights too bright Allen, Second Round Flame out Mitchell, Butterfingers Mobley, and the king of choke jobs Harden. Now have to change their playoff reputations in a road playoff game which the Cavs have been notoriously bad all playoffs for multiple seasons.
Pistons are the more talented roster by a wide margin
Cavaliers can’t be considered a talented roster. Talented teams don’t forget how to handle the ball or shoot or play defense. This upcoming sweep and roster change will hopefully start the rebuild.
