Suggestions for which Melbourne suburb to move to?
My partner and I are planning to make an interstate move from Sydney our current home, to Melbourne VIC. Seeing how Melbourne realestate seems to be our only hope right now to be live-in home owners, we're thinking - why live in a state making our home owning dream absolutely impossible? Sydney is so terrible right now, with houses at $1mil as starting point even in South West Syd/Campbelltown(supposedly more affordable).
Due to our jobs and pets, a stand alone house with a yard would work better for us. Currently, with Melbourne's property on the lower end of pricing compared to other states, this would probably be our only choice.
We've only been in Melb as "tourists", never lived in the state for more than 1 week. We truly need suggestions and perspectives on the difference living there vs Sydney. Which suburb would suit our needs?
We'd need a suburb with demographics that need or can afford music lessons (young kids, or adults), good and varied ethnic culture (we love our asian community, shops, restaurants), good coffee nearby, friendly dog parks and nice walking areas for the daily dog walks + coffee, maybe even weekend hiking if possible. Our budget is ideally below $650-$680k.
Any suggestions would help. Any expectations/ perspective would help too.
Thank you all. 🙂
