For district 2

I asked each commissioner candidate if they would ban data centers -

Ken Kiler refused to say he would ban them. He is responsible for the moratorium. When I pressed him asking why the pause and not a permanent ban, he said that’s so a decision could be made. I asked what his decision would be and he stated “Candidates can say anything. Any decision will take at least 3 votes of the 5 commissioners.
Emails are cold. Black and white.” And continued to refuse to give an answer.

Kim Zentz gave some reasoning as to why a data center would not be positive. “As for Finksburg specifically, I don’t see how a development of that scale could reasonably fit that area. The proximity to Sandymount Elementary alone would be an immediate red flag.” So it seems she would not be pro data center, but did not take a hard stance.

Todd Tracey was the only definitive stance. “

Thank you for this important question! I do not believe data centers have a place in Carroll County. The list of issues with them is quite extensive and impacts to communities with data centers is still being assessed. I support the banning of data centers in Carroll County.

Todd”

Please take with this info what you will. Data centers are an important topic as the moratorium on them ends in Feb. whoever your commissioner is, they will either approve them or not. It’s important.

Voting is now!!

Hey everyone, appreciate any and all advice and life experiences. We had a dishwasher repair company come out and repair our dishwasher 3 times. Issue was pooling water in it. We thought it was fixed, now 8 months later we find that water is shooting out of it, we get a new company to come in, and the find that actually waters been shooting out of it this entire time, into the sub flooring and into my basement ceiling. So now I’m left with major repairs. There’s extensive water damage and black mold I assume since it’s black.

Anyone dealt with something like this?

My thought was to reach out to the company to demand they repair all the damage. I have home owners insurance though so it feels like I should use that, but they’re clearly liable so it really should be their insurance. Then I also thought maybe a lawyer to handle it for me….

I’m just not sure, so would love to know how others went about it.

Also what are the steps do I get them to fix the mold now? I feel like waiting on this company could take months and this is a health hazard.
