What is it with Monza
I'm pretty new to sim racing (mid-January) and have not plucked up the courage to race online yet, mostly because I don't want to spoil other people's races. So instead, I have been using AMS2 as it seems to have the best AI racing. I am slowly getting better and can now qualify in pole and beat the AI comfortably by about a second or so per lap on most circuits with the AI on 90; however, when I try Monza, it's a different story, I can't get anywhere near the AI at the same difficulty. I qualify somewhere in mid pack and either finish in the same position or fall further back. This is all in the ideal kind of weather settings. I haven't tackled rain yet. My question is: is AI somehow much better at Monza, or am I just crap on this track? Has anyone else had the same or similar problems? I have a similar problem at Oulton Park, but I still manage to qualify well there and can have narrow victories. I'm wondering if chicanes are the common denominator.
