Finding the Money: Free Film Screening + Discussion @ SPACE, Sunday, July 12
Does it bother you that the federal government seems to have unlimited money for war, ICE, and corporate welfare, but cries poverty whenever it comes to investing in free healthcare for all, good public jobs, renewable energy, affordable housing, education, food assistance, and other basic public needs? Us too. So, we're holding events across the U.S. to bust the myth of "scarce" federal money, and to organize popular support for the bold federal investments needed to build a more equitable, sustainable, and prosperous economy.
Join Modern Money Lab, Maine People's Alliance, and other community members on Sunday, July 12 @ SPACE in Portland from 2 to 4 pm for a free screening of 'Finding the Money' – feat. former Bernie Sanders economic advisor Stephanie Kelton – followed by a short discussion of how we can steward our national money system to make life better and more affordable.

The truth is this: Anything our country can *realistically do*, it can afford to do. We don’t have to find the money; the real challenge is organizing our national resources. It's time to move past the games that the billionaire class and corrupt politicians play to convince us we can't have nice things. It's time to build the economy we all want and deserve.
