I’m trying not to just give up on roses

(Scroll down for TDLR)
I only ever had drift roses or knockout roses that were easy until I moved to my new place. My first non-drift was Don Juan - it got crown gall disease. I pulled it out by the roots, dug a hole 1ft wider than the reach of the roots, threw away the soil, and even burned a fire in the hole where the plant was.

I waited 2 years to plant a new rose in the same garden bed. The new rose (a David Austin Golden Celebration) was planted last year about 10ft away from where the infected Don Juan was. Meanwhile…… this whole time, I had one knock out rose sitting in that garden bed. It is planted about 5ft away from the original infected Don Juan and was just chugging along fine until about last year.

Last year I noticed it only had about 2 rounds of blooms and then started looking super straggly. No signs of anything specific on the plant but it just looked overall weak. No new growth after the first flush, dropped leaves, etc. I chalked it up to issues relating to the jumping worms. The jumping worms infestation is INSANE here and they really got into the roots of the roses and undermined all of the soil and caused everything to dry out super quickly if I didn’t stay on top of watering.

This year, however, it is looking INCREDIBLY sad!!! And I’m super stressed about it bc this knock out is directly next to my brand new Golden Celebration and I’m worried it has another infectious disease! It had one flush of blooms and now NOTHING!! Not even a single new leaf!!!! All the leaves currently on it are ragged as heck and I’m now seeing yellowing in the veins of the leaves. (Pictures attached)

They get filtered sun from 12:00-3:00 and full sun from 3:00-sunset in the summer. They don’t get much morning sun due to the shed being to the east of the plants

I will be sad to see this rose go if it has to but I would do anything to try and protect my golden celebration!

TLDR:
My knockout rose is showing signs of infectious disease but I am not sure and need help identifying it.

4 years ago I had one rose bush planted 10ft away that had crown gall disease but I pulled it out and sanitized the area best I could.

Photos attached are:

3&4) Photos of the same plant from a few weeks ago when they started to bloom

Need product rec for inline, set & forget, LED flush mount lights

I bought some flush mount LEDs for my basement stairs and they’re way too bright. I’m trying to not have to re-do the whole box and drywall around it so my choices were limited to the size and shape of the old LED lights that were installed. I just need a little in-line dimmer module that I can wire between the actual on-off switch and the lamp.

I don’t want a regular dimmer switch for two reasons

  1. once I get the right brightness I NEVER want to change it
  2. there are outlets on that switch I don’t want to dim

So I just need a little inline module I can attach to the line inside the wall, before the actual lamp, choose my dim setting, and then close the whole wall up and forget about it.

I am doing my own searching but the problem I’m having reading the specs and descriptions is that I don’t know if these are rated for use inside a wall (or the box the light is mounted in) or if they’re more for use with custom LED light builds.

I’m aware I could do it the hack way and just install a dimmer switch and hide it in the wall but I don’t wanna do that. I want something meant for the function.

I dont want a Bluetooth device with an app to control it either. No touch panels either. Just a little box that controls the output that I can set and forget.

Btw - The LED lights that are currently installed are dimmable. I already confirmed this.

Attached is a photo of the type of thing I’m looking at but not sure if I can be wired in line in a residential building (link: https://www.zoro.com/westek-6503bc-150-watt-indoor-lamp-dimmer-we10688/i/G909228922/ )

Anyone ever see Rubio monocoat do this?

I’m doing a hand-rubbed application of Rubio mono-coat “pure” on my antique style hickory floors and in one spot I poured some out across the board (I’m doing one run at a time) and when I got to it to rub it in it left lines in the wood. I thought maybe that park sunk in and the rest that I just spread just needed time to sink in so I waited but the lines remain! This only happened to me on this one board and I’m curious what caused this. The time between me dripping it on the wood and me rubbing it in was no more than 2-3 minutes. I can finish a run in 15 minutes tip to hole.
