Wonderland Magic House completed

Of course I had to edge paint and sand the burrs down. There are a few pieces that were loose and needed glue, so that is a win. I did, however break a piece of the hat... I put a little too much pressure positioning it and, to be fair, it broke in a weak and thin area. Mini unboxing in another post. Here are the front and back with and without lights. It is really cute. :)

Wonderland Magic House

I purchased this not-super-socialized mini kit off Temu. It arrived yesterday so I did a mini unboxing video (it wont let me add it here for some reason). I haven't finished it yet.. the usual edge sanding and painting so it does take a little time to dry. It wont take much more to complete so Ill post again soon. Just wanted to share... so far so good. The wood pieces snap out easily and it is pretty sturdy. The inks are vibrant. Some glue is needed (BTW the glue that it came with? I couldnt get the top off so I just used what I have on hand).

I really love this kit. I am an ancient and classical history nerd, so this build spoke to me even before the event. I first wanted to add all kinds of ancient artifacts, but once I started building and saw the perspective-based design, I had to dial it back a little. Still...

I added a panel from the Egyptian Book of the Dead complete with faience stones (now, of course, no historian or librarian in their right mind would hang a priceless work of art between glass in a window, so rest assured this is a replica and the original is still protected in the vaults). I also added a scroll from Alexander of Cyprus, written in ancient Greek with Aramaic underneath; pages from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales; Marcus Aurelius' Meditations; and, of course I modified the center pedestal book. In my mind, that book is Mallory's Le Morte d'Arthur.

I also painted nearly every edge. My gold chrome pen is done-zo so I had to break out the Rub n'Buff. XD I had wanted to add another pedestal book on the side and make an actual rug, however 1. It looked too crowded and 2. The rug had to be cut around the stairs, which looked dumb (not to mention I didn't want to move the sensor). Overall.... I am VERY happy with this build.

By chance does anyone have a scan of the round rug in front of the nook? I might try printing an actual rug but with the stairs I am not sure. And of course I had this brainy idea after installing the left panel and stairs. Ugh.
