Can I buy a fixer-upper with a VA loan?

I’m looking to buy a home, I have good credit and a decent income stream, but the problem is my price range only includes condos and dated rowhomes. There are a few places with more square footage that I actually like, but they’ll need work. I’m down to do renovations, so that doesn’t bother me. Mostly worried whether a VA loan would even work for a fixer-upper or if the condition of the house could be an issue.

Has anyone here successfully bought a fixer-upper with a VA loan? Is there a specific type of loan available for this? Interested to hear what y’all would do in this situation.

Rent the runway for men?

My wife has an annual subscription for RTR. We’ve been to four weddings so far this year and she just rents a different dress for each one, meanwhile I’m in the same suit I wore to our own wedding. I’ve been thinking about stepping up my style game. I had a very signature sense of style in college and enjoyed getting dressed. But as the years have passed, I got into a routine of wearing the same things. We just got back from a trip to Sicily, my wife looked so elegant in all of her rented clothes, and I’m just standing next to her in the pictures like a bum in a plain tee shirt and shorts. All that said, my job is pretty casual, I don’t need a whole new wardrobe filled with nice pieces, but renting some outfits for when we go on vacation and stay at nice resorts or go out to an upscale restaurant would be nice.

Is there anything out there that you’d recommend where I can receive some items for a few months? Everything I’ve seen so far is a subscription box that sends you clothes to buy, not to wear and send back like how my wife does. Do rental services like hers exist for men?

Mortgage companies that specialize in military families?

After many home purchases over the years and a lot of other moves throughout my career, my spouse and I are finally looking at buying our retirement home. Since it’s likely the last home we’ll buy, we want to be as financially smart about it as possible.

I’ve seen plenty of ads claiming to have special military rates but I don’t want to start with one that’s advertising a special rate just to find out halfway through they’re shit. If you've bought a home recently and felt like your lender treated you fairly throughout (especially on the pricing and fees side of things) I'd love to hear who you went with and how it went. Any other advice is also welcome!
