I’m looking for laptop recommendations for advanced machine learning, deep learning, AI implementation, and future research, with a focus on long-term use (4–5 years).
My workloads will include PyTorch/TensorFlow, computer vision, LLM experimentation, AI agents, data engineering, and computational neuroscience/BCI projects.
I’d appreciate recommendations across different price ranges, with specific models and configurations available in India.
A few questions:
Which laptops offer the best performance and reliability for ML/AI workloads?
How much GPU VRAM is ideal for advanced ML and local LLM experimentation?
Is an RTX 5070 with 8GB VRAM sufficient, or is a higher-VRAM GPU worth investing in?
How much RAM would be suitable for long-term use?
Which laptops offer the best cooling and sustained performance?
I’d especially appreciate real-world experiences and recommendations from people who use their laptops for ML/AI development or research.

I’m just starting my journey into neuroscience, EEG, neural signal processing and BCI, and I’m looking for a few people who are also starting from the basics and want to learn together.

I’m currently working in an MNC, but I’m completely new to this field. I’d like to start with:

\\\* Neuroscience fundamentals
\\\* DSP/signal processing
\\\* EEG + MNE-Python
\\\* EEG preprocessing
\\\* Neural signal features
\\\* ML for EEG
\\\* Eventually building a small BCI project

I’m mainly looking for beginners who are genuinely interested and want to study consistently, discuss what we’re learning, share resources and eventually build something together.

Also, if anyone here has experience doing EEG/BCI/ML work, I’d love suggestions for a good laptop for getting started — especially something suitable for Python, ML, signal processing and eventually deep learning.
