(Boulder County, CO) I have to change my guarantor and they said my new one has to make 5x base rent when that wasn’t the case two years ago?

Edit: not to be snippy but you guys, I understand why an apartment has to have proof that a guarantor makes enough to cover both their bills and mine. I’m confused on why I was ever able to get approved when according to them, this requirement has remained the same the whole time.

As the title says. I’ve lived in my apartment for over two years (I have a 15month lease and resgined once already) and love everything about my apartment. I want to resign again but I have to change who the guarantor on my lease is. I emailed the property management office about the whole process and they said my new guarantor would have to make almost 10k a month to be approved?! When I moved in, my guarantor and I combined didn’t make that much but I was still approved. I asked how I was ever allowed to live here and they haven’t responded. Are they trying to force me to move out? I’ve been late on rent a few times during some hard months but always kept them updated otherwise I’ve been an easy tenant. I’m so screwed if I can’t stay here but don’t know anyone who makes minimum 100k a year. WWYD please help I’m freaking out.
