Wild Card has failed it’s promise to “make the end of the season more exciting”

Wild Card, Top 6 and Top 4 are pretty much locked in heading into Round 24.

Top 4 is locked in unless there’s a huge upset between West Coast and Hawks, Melbourne gain 6% against Bulldogs or Collingwood beat Brisbane (probably the only interesting game).

Top 6 is a lock unless Geelong somehow lose to Richmond.

And Wild Card is locked in.

Obviously the Wild Card is for an extra game. But the “how exciting is it going to be to have all these teams fighting for a spot” narrative we’ve been sold didn’t pan out.
