On January 24, 1983, 17-year-old Tihomir "Tim" Maletic walked out of his family home in Kitchener, Ontario, leaving behind a brief note. He said he was going to Toronto. He never returned.
In the days that followed, there were no confirmed sightings. No calls. No explanation. Then, one week later, something deeply unsettling happened — Tim’s wallet was mailed back to his home. The postmark traced it to Detroit, Michigan. The sender has never been identified.
More than four decades later, Tim’s disappearance remains unsolved.
Tim had ties to both the Kitchener and Windsor areas, raising questions about where he may have really been heading, and who he may have encountered along the way. What should have been a simple trip has instead become a case defined by silence and a single, haunting clue - the return of the wallet.
