Is this supposed to feel normal?
Hi everyone,
I've been a CSM for 4 months, and I feel so drained and even physically sick. I work very long hours, I struggle with sleep occasionally and even dreamt about being in a meeting.
Before this, I have around 6 years of account and relationship management, but I was able to handle it well.
But in this line of work, I work with KAMs, and my role is basically forcing my clients to spend more on our service.
I don't like the sales aspect anymore that's why I took this job, but the company direction seems to enforce it on us that we do sales anyway minus the contracts and billing and force revenue by enforcing product adoption.
Not to mention that we do an everyday EOD with our top executive for updates and progress
I do trainings, product demos and analytics to my clients, but somehow management only focuses on how much are they going to burn in their contract, as that is their definition of success.
Is this an average feeling of a CSM? I used to enjoy different hobbies, travel, and do some personal growth, but my body and mind has led me to always think aboyt work. I can't even take a day off because I don't want to miss out on meeting clients and getting commitments from them.
I want to see if this is a universal experience. Please share your thoughts.
