Project Kitty Quilt is a resounding success

When I was working on my first ever quilt, my cats loved laying on the quilt top so much that I decided to make them their own little quilt. Kitty Quilt 1.0 was a small rag quilt, which only one cat could lay on, which caused frequent conquests over it. Floof flying everywhere. Quickly it was decided that bigger lands need to be acquired, big enough to fit two big booties. So kitty quilt 1.1 was created.

Fabrics used are from the Poppie Cotton Market Day series, no pattern used, just something quick I came up with in an afternoon. It's been in daily use now for about two years and only once I had to re-do one heart-pattern because a kitty made biscuits too passionately.

[PIC] it finally happened to me! (Somewhat)

I am an avid lurker on this subreddit and occasionally get to watch the big thrift finds from American cross stitchers from their thrift stores (which im not envious of at all, haha ha ha)

Never ever did I think I'd find something related to my hobby in our small local thrift store, and if anything not a vintage dimensions kit I'd actually like. So, imagine with me, walking along one of two aisles, looking at some clothes when in the tiny hobby section this beauty looks at me and blinks her eyes. It was like she was calling out my name. Imagine my surprise when all the threads were accounted for. I don't think I've ever been this happy over a thrift find, I practically skipped out of the store.

It may not be as big as a find as other people have, but its still a big win for a small backwater town cross stitcher like me. Rejoice!

[FO] Cross stitch on a quilt I did for my granny

I made this quilt for my grandma for Christmas 2024 and cross stitched a little message for her on the back of it. Its still holding up after one and a half years of daily use! It says "I love you bambulina", which is a world play on the russian word "babushka" and the Italian "bambina" which is an inside joke between us.
