Favourite names of all time?
I'll go first:
- Starseer, but it became awkward as he became deputy but then he died so it all worked out
- Bluebellmeadow, a mouthful but very pretty
- Darkdusk
- Dancinglotus
- Shiveringfog
- Seathorn, my favourite daughter
- And a loner named 'Man with all the answers'
Is it possible to make inanimate objects sapient?
Not as in what happened to Wyrden, as he was already alive and intelligent, sentient but not sapient. But could you enchant a sword or a mug to be alive? Could you enchant a whole building or just one brick. Or would it just be too much energy?
How would the leader of the riders have sent out messages?
The title is clunky but let me explain. So, before the Rider War, how would the leader of the riders, in this case Vrael, have sent out messages to all of the riders under his command? Did they all carry a special scrying mirror where Vrael could basically have a 'recording' of him saying something and all the riders would see it when they looked at the mirror? Was it a giant zoom call where they all hopped in one a month to talk? Did they just send physical messengers?
I've recently started my annual reread and this question popped into my mind and I was curious what the rest of this sub thought.
Couple of things I noted, when Roran and Eragon travelled to Helgrind it was said that the two adult Lethrblakas, when they were alive and dead absolutely reeked, ignoring the whole breath thing Ra'zac do on their prey which is more of an ability in my opinion, which is a bit odd if you're hunting something like a human, as that's a surefire way to get you noticed, but then again, they're huge. But anyway, do they smell rank because they just do, or because they live in a place that could be featured on Hoarders?
And in the chambers below Dras-Leona, when the two Ra'zac hatch and one goes for Eragon, do youse think this could be replicated with an animal, or nah? In my opinion it read as it more being attracted to food than any malicious intent to eat a human alive. A 'good' Ra'zac could be an interesting concept, or at least one that doesn't go around eating slaves, but you also run the risk of making them less intimidating and mysterious. I don't know, I just like to yap.
