Do You Use Gloves?

I wanted to see what beekeeping entails, so I recently joined a small group in Philly and have been helping out with beekeeping for a few months. One thing that really detracts from my experience is their insistence that no one wears gloves. Their feeling is that if you wear gloves, you aren't as careful handling the hives. What is ironic to me is that, at every session, the handlers themselves get stung several times.

I really want to continue working with them, but the constant fear of getting stung really puts me off. I'm curious if this practice of not wearing gloves is common in the beekeeping community?

Update: Thanks so much for all the replies. It gave me the confidence to insist on being allowed to wear nitrile gloves and they were ok with me doing that.

Space Marine 2 Runs Fine For Me (Update)

The other day I posted about conflicting information on SM2 (https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/s/EbCso5ep3w). In the end, I decided to give it a try. Admittedly, I'm only at the start, but FPS has been consistently between 39-44. Graphics are set to low, but I don't think it's blurry. You can judge for yourself. I'm definitely keeping it.

Fyi, I have a LCD SD. No settings were touched.

Hope this helps those of you who, like me, wondered if the game is playable.

Defender of the Crown Remastered

Back in the day, I was a big fan of this game, though it was really hard. Looks like they'll be doing a lot more than updating graphics. I think it'll play great on Steam Deck.

Getting a New Gas Heater Worth It?

We have an old Hayward H240 gas pool heater, which works fine, but is pretty expensive to run. Received a quote to put in a Raypak 406 400k BTU for $6,600. The pool is 22k gallons.

Is it worth replacing? Am I going to save enough in the long run?
