Flying with film

Hi! Getting ready to fly with a film camera (1975 Yashica MG1) for the first time. While I’m sure it’s unavoidable to an extent, is it generally better for the film or lens to be packed in checked luggage or carryon when it goes through X-rays?

In search of beginner tips!

Hi! I recently have begun my film photography journey. I’m using a 1970’s Yashica MG-1 with Kodak UltraMax 400.

I got my first roll back, and while I’m happy with most of the photos, some have that red grain and another has half the photo whited out. Wondering what settings to change or how to avoid this issue in the future! Any tips and feedback on my photos would be greatly appreciated :)
