struggling with edeas. any tips?

hi! i'm an adult beginner skater who's never done any other sports in his life, but i've been working at figure skating competitions for a few years now, and it got me very interested in the sport. with the help of a friend (who also started as an adult), i recently bought my first pair of boots - edea overtures (with the balance blade).

there's only two certified edea dealers that i'm aware of in my country, and i went to the nearest one. the skate tech measured my foot length, said it was the easiest fitting he'd ever done, and gave me my 255C boots. while they felt good at the shop, the moment i got on the ice, i started experiencing deep aches in my arches. i figured it must be the breaking in process and kept skating, but the more i wore them, the worse the ache got, and the more it started to linger after getting off the ice.

i thought maybe i needed to change insoles, but the skate shop didn't have the riedell r-fit, superfeet yellow, or even the cushier edea insoles. i live in a country where i can't order anything from overseas, so i couldn't order them online either. i went to my skate tech, and he took the skates to get them punched out. the ache didn't go away.

i'm now wondering if there was a part of the fitting process that was skipped? when you guys were getting your skates, how was your foot measured? were there any adjustments done to the skates before you got out of the shop? if there was no problem with the fitting, is there any way i can fix this issue that you can think of? i can't get riedells or jacksons or risports or anything of the sort as the only skates sold in my country fit for my level are edeas.

what to feed my crows

i had been befriending my local crows for about 3-4 months when i had to leave for summer break, and i'm going to go back to them soon, so i was wondering if there was anything i could give them to apologize for my absence in my own way (even if they don't really care)... my usual gifts for them are cashews and raw quail eggs, sometimes with kitty kibble, blueberries, and peanuts. i will rarely give them some raw meat as well but not often because it summons all the cats in the area. is there anything special i could bring them as my apology? thank you!

hooded crow/corvus cornix cross stitch

i've been wanting to give cross stitching a try and i thought what better way to start than with my very close friend "buddy" that i've been missing a lot while away from home :D

question regarding fledgling growth

i'm friends with a crow family, and they have a fledgling. dark blue eyes, can fly, hasn't yet fully figured how to eat on his own but is coming closer to it! i'll be away for two to three months and i'm really quite sad that i won't get to witness him growing up. can i expect him to be fully grown by the time i get back, or is it possible that there might still be some young crow attributes that i might be able to pick out to tell him apart from his parents?

hii, first of all sorry for the bad video quality! my phone was quite far as i'm afraid of spooking my friend haha

so i've been trying to befriend this little guy for about a month and a half now :) i give him unsalted peanuts in the shell (though he's been over those ever since he saw i have other things to give), walnuts in the shell, blueberries (he hasn't yet eaten one, i'm waiting for a hotter day to try again), cashews, hard boiled chicken eggs, and as of today, raw quail eggs! (yes, it's hard on my wallet LOL)

today i wanted to try and see if we were hand-feeding level yet as he's been hopping up next to me on the bench at times, even when i have nothing to give! but as you can see (though maybe you can't because of the video quality..), instead of going for the quail egg, he went for my finger!

it didn't hurt at all, and i'm sure he wasn't trying to make it hurt because if he wanted to it would, but i'm wondering if it was his way of trying to get my finger out of the way to access the egg? as i wasn't looking at him (again, don't wanna spook him) i hadn't expected for him to bite my finger, so unfortunately i flinched which ended up spooking him anyway...

(and don't worry, he got his egg in the end! i put it down on the bench for him :))
