Sonographer Interview

Hey everyone! As I begin my program I am required to email a Sonographer and ask three questions. Would anyone be open to me doing that interview with you?

I’ve contacted everyone I know locally in the medical field, but no one has been able to connect me to a Sonographer and the hospitals do not have directories with contact information.

Thank you!

Getting Discouraged

After waiting two and a half years on the waitlist for my local sonography program, I finally made it into the program, yay! When I first started this journey three years ago, I was so excited. Before school even starts, we have to do a DMS orientation on Canvas. SO much of the orientation seems like it is specifically made to scare/weed out students. We had to watch day in the life videos of students and everyone said how they couldn’t work, had to make sacrifices in their personal life, and how difficult the program is. Now it’s onto the physical outcomes of DMS, how stressful the job is, etc.

I’ve wanted to work in the medical field forever and I’m ready to leave non-profit, but this has me second guessing everything. So many Reddit posts also say how they would have chosen a different path. At this point, are there any positives about going into sonography? I want to continue being a helping professional and I’ve been dreaming about going into healthcare, but now I’m doubting myself
