This just keeps getting better

I thought I had reached a pinnacle with OTM, then I discovered Become. I like every song on that EP. Then the iTunes Session gave me new perspective on earlier stuff. Now I find B-Sides and Rarities. Six really good songs on there. Chariot, White Moon, and The Arrangement being full slappers, imo

I listened to Depression Cherry for kicks even though I had kind of sworn off "albums". Damn! So good

I took a drive the other day and hit shuffle on my BH Bangers playlist. This is what it hit me with:

  1. Superstar
  2. Wishes
  3. Dive
  4. Alien
  5. New Year
  6. PPP
  7. Zebra
  8. American Daughter
  9. Gila (Live)
  10. Somewhere Tonight
  11. The Arrangement
  12. Lazuli
  13. Lose Your Smile
  14. Devil's Pool
  15. Myth
  16. Drunk in LA
  17. Silver Soul
  18. Holiday House
  19. Chariot
  20. Black Magic
  21. L'Inconnue
  22. Become
  23. Finale
  24. One Thing
  25. Woo

What did I do to deserve this? So much fun!

Any Pro-Shot HQ Audio live performances since Kings Theater?

I've searched the youtube. Looked at Mexico City, House of Blues, and Peru from 2022; Chesterfield 2025, and whenever that This Ain’t No Picnic in LA was shot ... and they're not up to snuff

I'm dying

Is there anything I've missed? Any late night TV appearances?

I need to see anything/everything from OTM or, even especially, Become

Just discovered BH a few months ago via performances on a couple Late Night USA TV shows. Then I watched the Kings Theatre show, Pitchfork, and a little Bonnaroo. Damn! Beautiful stuff for the most part. I always investigate new music through live performances. Because.

So then I Spotified their recorded stuff by listening to the songs I liked from the shows. So far so ... pretty ... good

Then decided to go through their discography chronologically. Not so good, didn't really like the first two albums

So I went for Bloom and Depression Cherry because they seemed to be most appreciated? Getting better. Liked them mostly, but not kicking my ass -- although a few songs did

Went back to Teen Dream and liked it somewhat, and decided that that album is kind of the BH sound? Simple, minimalist, tender?

Listened to Thank Your Lucky Stars and mostly liked it, but I'm not being hit album-wise ... yet

Listened to "7" and OMG. Only a couple songs I thought were less than stellar. This is getting fun

Just started Once Twice Melody and the first three songs so far really covered me with the feels ... I had to stop and come here to tell you all about it LOL

Anyway, I think the experience of BH must be so different if you started with them when they started and might think "7" and Once Twice Melody (although I'm not done with it yet) are a blasphemous derivation. They are kind of poppy and energetic and more "orchestrated" in a way the earlier stuff isn't. But if you started with their circa 2018? stuff their early stuff might sound a little weak or precious?

Sorry if my generalizations are off. I'm new and haven't listened to many of their songs more than once or twice. I know that changes things in a big way

So what's your story? Been here all along or just discovering them?
