NBA adjusted the Finals schedule to avoid counter programming our World Cup opener

Thought this was pretty cool. Shows how massive the World Cup is in the US. It does make sense from the NBA's perspective, since the average NBA Finals game last year only got 10.27 million viewers, while our least viewed WC game in '22 got 11.7 million viewers (combined English and Spanish).

Tessmann to miss rest of Lyon club season. World Cup "not in jeopardy"

From the article:

"Olympique Lyonnais’ Tanner Tessmann (24) is out for the rest of the season, his manager Paulo Fonseca announced at a press conference on Friday.

Suffering from a “muscle strain”, the US international, who has 14 caps (one goal), will therefore not be travelling to face Toulouse FC this Sunday, nor will he feature in the final league match against RC Lens next weekend. His participation in the World Cup is not, however, in jeopardy."

Will we win the World Cup? Of course not. Does this ad make me want to run through a brick wall? Hell yeah!
