Australia Tourist Visa Refused Despite Strong Job, Salary, Family Travel Plan — Need Opinions
Hi everyone,
I am an Indian citizen currently residing in Qatar. I am working in a major oil and gas company in Qatar in a stable full-time position, earning more than ₹10 lakhs per month. I applied for an Australian tourist visa for a short family holiday along with my immediate family.
My planned trip was only for tourism, around 10–11 days, with a proper itinerary, hotel bookings, leave approval from my employer, salary slips, bank statements, and other supporting documents. I also have legal residence in Qatar and a stable job to return to after the trip.
However, my visa was refused under the genuine temporary entrant / temporary stay requirement. The main reasons mentioned were:
Since I planned to travel with my immediate family, the officer felt my family in Qatar would not act as a reason for me to return.
They noted that I did not declare land, property, or business assets in Qatar.
Based on that, they were not satisfied that I genuinely intended to stay temporarily in Australia.
I am surprised because I have a strong job, high income, approved leave, legal Qatar residency, and a clear short tourism plan. I never intended to work, study, or stay long-term in Australia.
I am attaching the refusal reason screenshot here. I would really appreciate comments from people who have experience with Australian tourist visa refusals, especially Indians living in Gulf countries.
What do you think went wrong here? Was the refusal mainly because the whole family was travelling together? Would reapplying with better explanations about job ties, Qatar residency, India family ties, and financial/investment documents make sense?
Please share your honest opinions and suggestions. I am trying to understand.
