Genuinely feel bad for whoever ended up buying this in London, Ontario
Looking back now, it’s honestly hard to believe houses like this were selling for these prices in London during the 2021–2022 market frenzy. A pretty basic looking house sitting on a 29 x 114 ft lot, with an unfinished basement and barely any upgrades or add-ons, sold for $945K at the peak of the madness.
What makes it even crazier is that London’s market did cool down later on, but nowhere near as brutally as places around the GTA or the Cambridge–Kitchener–Waterloo region. Still, imagining how the buyer must feel today is rough, especially when a bigger and better house on a corner lot directly across the street (1691 O'HANLAN Lane) sold for only $665K in January 2026.
That whole period in the housing market felt disconnected from reality. People were pressured into overpaying out of fear of being priced out forever, and many buyers ended up making life changing decisions in what now feels like one of the most irrational housing bubbles we’ve seen.
