First of all, before anyone asks, I only used one cube, I’m refrigerating the rest until I use it

I just thought this was funny. Yet another case of me being like “this would be a great idea!” Famous last words… 🫠

The back instructions got me… “to make 50 servings, first get 3 kg of onions…”

If anyone has ideas for future batches please give me ingredient suggestions so I don’t end up with more “oops all onions” :)

Help with DIY plumbing - I need to install a 食洗器用分岐水栓 (branch pipe?) under my sink

Obviously since this is plumbing I would prefer to leave it to a professional plumber, but I think it's going to be a little expensive that way, and the plumber I already did contact ghosted me 😅(むむむ。。。)

Basically I have a countertop dishwasher I used at a previous apartment. In that apartment the faucet was a basic type that had bolts above the sink. I got a plumber to install the 食洗器用分岐水栓 in accordance with the rules of my rental agreement. Now I own the new apartment so I can do whatever I want within reason. Anyhow, my new apartment's kitchen sink has a faucet that cannot support 食洗器用分岐水栓 (cleanup brand--I asked their support desk and they said it can't be installed) (See picture A).

However, I did some research online and found this article...

止水栓に分岐水栓を取り付ける場合

Looks like it can be installed under the sink, which is perfect because I can run the hose under the sink by drilling a hole in the side of the cupboard. I'm sure it will be fine if I get lots of buckets and towels and turn off the water beforehand. But I'm pretty nervous about knowing what parts to buy since it seems like there are a lot of different types. Has anyone else done this or has any sort of plumbing experience? I am pretty handy but don't have any plumbing experience aside from basic setting up a washer level stuff and so on.

After a bit more research I found this video and this video. in the second video at 0:24 you can see the 分岐水栓 that seems to be already attached to his pipe. He doesn't show how to install that. 😅 Basically I want to do the same thing except my dishwasher is not built-in, so I just need to run the line outside the cupboard. Sorry if this doesn't make any sense, but if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it (and does anyone know how much it would cost to get a plumber to JUST attach the 分岐水栓, if it comes down to that... I could do the rest myself as I have a good idea of what I want and don't want to pay them to plan everything and draw it up) please help me... I am going out of my mind without a dishwasher...

Cost of getting a new コンセント installed

Hey everyone, this is kind of a dumb question but I just wanted to bounce off other people and see if the price this guy told me is reasonable.

Basically I want to have a new コンセント installed in a wall (should be a hollow drywall wall as opposed to concrete) above my door so I can install a shelf right there to put my wifi router on and reduce the cables running everywhere.

I contacted an electric company to get an estimate, thinking it would be like ¥10-20 k, but the guy said it would be more like ¥50-60 k just for one コンセント。 does anyone know if this is a reasonable going price? And if any electricians could do it for lower could you recommend a company? I will attach photos of my current setup (1, 3) and the place I want to put the outlet (2)

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Vegan Pride picnic in Yoyogi park (Tokyo): now changed to June 20th (Saturday)

Sorry everyone, I remembered that I actually have a different engagement on the 13th, so that event is called off. I changed the date to Saturday June 20th. I hope this doesn’t derail anyone’s plans. All other details of the event are unchanged; please see below.

* Note: this is a vegan food only event. Please do not bring non vegan food even if you are not vegan.

Hey everyone, because of the roaring success of last year’s pride picnic I’m hosting another Pride picnic (this year it will be the weekend after the Pride festival).

Meetup link: https://meetup.com/tokyo-vegan-adventure-club?member_id=73775762

🌱 date: June 20th (Saturday), 13:00-17:00 ish
🌱 place: meet at JR Harajuku station west entrance (the side with the monk and beatboxer)
🌱 details: bring your own food, snacks and drinks (you are welcome to share food with others, but this is not a potluck)
🌱 bring your smile :) and if you have a card game or something else you’d like to share, feel free to bring that too
🌱 vegan food and drink only, please
🌱 cis/het allies welcome
🌱 picnic will be cancelled in the event of rain. In that case we can still meet at Harajuku station and go to a nearby cafe or lunch spot

Look forward to seeing everyone there :)
