Making New Friends

Hi everyone :) I'm a woman in my late 30s looking to meet some new people in the area and thought I'd put myself out there.

I enjoy movies, checking out restaurants, dancing, trying new sports (not athletic, but I'd like to be), and creative things like writing fiction, art classes and photography. I'm pretty open to trying new things and hobbies and would love to meet people with similar interests.

My thought is to get a small group together somewhere casual to meet and see if we click. No pressure or expectations. If some of us hit it off, we can stay in touch and see where things go naturally.

Ideally, I'd love for this to lead to genuine, lasting friendships. I'm looking for people who actually want to make an effort to stay in touch, make plans, and get to know each other over time.

I'm hoping to meet people 30+ who are also looking to expand their social circle. I'd especially love to meet some other women in the area.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please comment below :)

Classic Literature Book Club

Our classic literature book club has a few openings for new members.

We read classic literature from roughly 1800–1960s with authors like Steinbeck, Dostoevsky, Hemingway, the Brontës, and many others. We read fiction and nonfiction alike.

The club meets about once a month on Thursday evenings.

Please private message me if you're interested :)

Classic Literature Book Club - First meeting June 18th Norwalk library

Hi everyone,

Edit: First meetup of the classic literature book club will be on June 18th at 6:30pm at Norwalk Library on Belden Ave (in study room).

Several people expressed interest in a previous post, so I’d like to move forward.

To recap, the group will focus on works written roughly between 1800 and 1960—novels, short stories, nonfiction, essays, etc. Think writers like Steinbeck, Dostoevsky, Bronte.

We’ll meet about once a month for casual discussion. No pressure if you don’t finish the book by the meeting. I’d like to start with shorter works to keep things manageable for everyone.

The first meeting will be mostly introductions and deciding on our first book together.

If you’re thinking about attending, please leave a comment below :)

Classic Literature Book Club

Hello everyone :)

I've been thinking about starting a classic literature book club in Norwalk (Fairfield County) and wanted to see there's any interest.

The idea would be to read works roughly from 1800–1960 — novels, short stories, nonfiction, etc. — and meet about once a month.

I'm just trying to gauge how many people would be interested in something like this. There seems to be an uptick in the popularity of classic lit on social media lately but I don't know how much that translates to real life.

Edit: Thanks to all interested. I'll be trying to gather a few more people. I'm looking for places to host

If all things come together, I will create another post with more details soon.
