what is this for? center console.
On my 2026 grand highlander, center console. I can’t see putting anything that could go flying like coins. Yet it seems like something intentional.

I was reading the details on the toyota extended warranty. I want to tow 4,000 pounds. well Within the 5k specs of the hybrid max.
But the vehicle cones with only a 3 in connector. If I convert to 5 in, does that void warranty on the powertrain?
EDIT: would wiring a brake controller be okay?
To help me understand the limits, does Anyone have a real life example of something related to personal use towing that would void the warranty?
I’ve never bought a new car before. paying cash, no trade in. We negotiated 10% off MSRP before the order was made. After a three month wait, vehicle will be ready on Friday.
Besides taxes, any other pressure tactics or surprises I need to be aware of? I figure I’ll be offered an extended warranty.
18 days ago the assistant general manager of a very busy Toyota dealership gave me a new base model SUV as a loaner because after 50 days of waiting we were “days” away from our SUV being ready.
I followed up with him a lot in those first 40 days, and he was never rude about it, but made it clear he’s running an efficient shop and he’s doing everything as quickly as possible. I can relax, it’s handled and the vehicle is mine. We’ve agreed on the price in writing.
He’d offered a loaner two times, and I declined, But for some logistics reasons my wife was facing I finally accepted the third time. He was sure it would only be a couple days. The after port items were done and we’re just waiting for a safety inspection.
But that was 18 days ago. I haven’t texted him and I know he’s got my number, email, ID, etc. I’d much rather have my own SUV so I can get a travel trailer for the fam and think about other things. But my wife is okay to wait if we have an SUV.
If I text him and he’s like “oh, wow. My bad. I need that car back.” my wife will promptly tell me I need to buy a different vehicle. And I know he’s got a head of service dept that must see I’ve had this vehicle all this time. They do crazy volume and there is a real chance he doesn’t care whatsoever.
What would you do? Let his team realize I’m still here? Wait for the vehicle to arrive to call me? Or text the guy?
