Tonite we attended a tribute jam in Osprey, Florida, held to celebrate the renaming of a section of US 41, now the Dickey Betts Memorial Highway, in the local legend’s honor. I love that florida legislators recognized Dickey’s contribution to the world and saw fit to designate a bit of Highway 41 near his home in his honor.

The former county commissioner who spearheaded the idea opened the show by reading the first verse of Ramblin’ Man.

The crowd, many of whom appeared to be roughly Dickey’s age when he passed, went wild.
