Hi guys I’m sorry for the stupid question, I have not idea about any hardware.

I have a bolt that is 3”x3/4”. I went to home depot to find a nut for this bolt and thought a 3/4” nut would work but I was told I’m wrong.

Any help on figuring the nut size?
