Mild Concussion Timeline & Concerns

I'm wondering how quickly a mild (possibly very mild) concussion takes to heal? If you've experienced this, how long did it take for you? I was reading Reddit and am freaked out about not fully recovering or recovering taking longer than urgent care and my PCP told me.

This happened exactly two weeks ago about an hour before I went to bed. I remember thinking my head really hurts by the time I was laying down, but was so busy when it occurred I didn't think about it.

Ache (not a true headache) in the spot I bumped was prominent for a few days, so I went to urgent care on day 3-4. They said it was just a goose egg and to ice it. Just saw my PCP this week and she was like it might be a mild concussion actually.

At the time of urgent care (day 3ish), I felt kind of dizzy/unbalanced (yet could walk just fine) and slightly nauseous, but I over think medical stuff and it wasn't too bad. That first week, felt just those minor symptoms with a couple days having more prominent ache feelings where I hit my head.

This past week, I feel like there's more dizziness/unbalanced feeling and nausea. I think most nausea is anxiety induced though.

Today is the 2 week mark. The ache where I hit my head is still present, but is definitely less. Dizziness gets better during the day, but can come back at night with too much screens.

I'm supposed to go to a concert on the exact 3 week mark. I'm so nervous and wondering if it'll be fine? I'd hate to cancel on the person I'm going with. I socialized with friends all day today and it went better than expected.

Questions About Starting

I've put off meds for years, but it might be time to start. Prozac seems like it will be the most helpful, but I'm terrified of the side effects. If you could please answer these, I'd appreciate it!

How bad was the transition phase? I've read a lot on here that people feel nauseous. I have an extreme fear of throwing up and when I'm nauseous, I'm in a nauseous/anxiety loop and it'll take me a few hours to keep myself from getting sick. I really can't deal with this while transitioning because I've missed work for it and I just can't call in again for nausea caused by anxiety that's make me almost throw up. Obviously, my work doesn't know that, but I feel so guilty knowing it's me making myself not feel well.

Did you gain weight? If so, how much? If you did gain weight, was your food intake and fitness different while on Prozac? Also, is gaining weight more different for 20mg versus 40mg? I have an ED history, so any weight changes will be triggering. A few times I've been injured and I spiral that my body is changing when I have to modify or take time off. I eat healthy and workout daily and don't plan to change that on Prozac. If you have or haven't gained weight, do you mind sharing if you are/were taking 20mg or 40mg?

Any other side effects? Would you recommend or not recommend Prozac? If you could go back, would you rather have just dealt with your mental health without meds?

Leveling Up Wardrobe, How Worth It?

I see so many posts in here with women sharing they buy their clothes from Anthro, Madewell, Evereve, etc.

I went to the mall to try on clothes from places like this because I’m really trying to up my wardrobe.

My questions:

  1. Is buying expensive jeans worth it?
  2. How do you get past wearing nicer clothes to work when your coworkers don’t dress up and make comments about others who wear expensive clothes?
  3. Was leveling up your wardrobe worth it to you?

I feel like I tried on the best jeans ever yesterday at a higher priced store. I can’t stop thinking about them. Do you buy jeans at full price? Do places like Evereve or Anthro ever have super significant sales? I feel like I see they have things on sale but it’s still kinda pricey.

My work friends will sometimes comment about other women who wear nicer clothes (those women definitely make more though), so I’m worried about wearing better stuff. Plus, whenever I wear something new, they always ask is it new? Most of them have been wearing the same things for years and don’t care as much about better clothes. For me, I do like feeling good in my clothes and I always admire when others wear clothes that look good on them.
