LOR advice/template

Any advice on/templates for asking professors for an LOR? How should I navigate explaining that although I enjoyed their class I want to transfer?

How does LSAT impact transfer?

Currently at T30 school with 4.01 GPA. Looking to send transfer application to HLS.

My LSAT was 170. I found info about median GPAs for successful transfers to HLS from my school, but there’s no info about LSAT score.

Does my low (in comparison to HLS students) LSAT score overpower my high 1L GPA for transfer? How much of an impact does LSAT score have on transfer applicants?

Biglaw to mid/small law pipeline

just finished 1L, have 2L biglaw summer for 2027.

As grateful as I am, Im not how long-term I see myself in Biglaw.

My question is, is it viable to use the biglaw summer for 3L apply to mid/small/boutique firms for post-grad? or would it be wise for me to suck it up in biglaw for a few years then look to lateral?

1L with 2L summer secured, but in different city as my S/O.

Is it a bad look to reapply for 3L positions in the city I want to end up in? Is 3L hiring a feasible way to move cities?

Hi all,

I'm a current law student who accepted a 10-15/hr a week "internship" for Summer 2026 a few weeks ago. This is an unpaid, virtual position, and it is mostly centered on learning modules, with some assistance on various tasks. I accepted the position, and I've just started the onboarding process (getting passwords to the task site, signing documents, etc.)

The problem is that today, I just got offered a far better internship this summer with pay, real tasks, and great future opportunities, 40/hrs a week.

Is there any way to professionally back out of the first position? Is it super unprofessional, given that they thought I was locked in for a few weeks and have probably turned down their other candidates?

Current law student in DC area - looking to sit/walk/overnight as a summer gig to get some extra cash. How difficult is it to get clients? Is the market too saturated with experienced Rover sitters with more reviews for a beginner to get any leads?
