What do you think was the easiest character to animate? (Please read body text)

What do you think was the easiest character to animate? (Please read body text)

Yes, who in your unprofessional opinions do you think the art team had the least struggles animating? But there are two restrictions.

  1. You can't say Fukua because she completely recycled sprites.

  2. I know Double has some funky movements, but she stole a lot of animations for other characters.

I guess I found Valentines Oshi

Oshi: Favorite VTuber. Originally a term from the Japanese idol fan community to refer to their favorite idols.

Skullgals, a parody from the cooler days of Skullgirls.

For anyone who doesn't know, Skullgals is an alledged Skullgirls port for a device called the "Neogeo pocket," as well as a parody of an actual fighting game for the Neogeo called SNK Gal Fighters

https://snk.fandom.com/wiki/SNK\_Gals%27\_Fighters

While I'm 90% sure this was never an actual game, there was an official release of Playstation avatars relating to the parody, which are pictured above. There is more, but I'm lazy, so if you're interested in learning a bit more I'll link the wiki page for it.

By the way, did you already know this, or did you learn something?

I still haven't beaten Fukua's storymode.

By the way, the rando at the end is smoking mystery drugs out of an off-brand soda can in case you can't tell.

So which playable character would make the best horror game protagonist? (Please read body text)

When I say "the best horror game protagonist," I mean, how well they could/would integrate into a horror game and still have the game be scary. You also can't just strip a character of any "built-in" abilities like their parasites or Nadia's life gem.

I made fanart of a redditor, again

(u/Bush_420) I considered drawing this autismo at one but but sided against that, then something came up, and then I kinda had to draw the guy. Valentines there cause I had to keep it Skullgirls related somehow.

Thank god(ess) social media doesn't exist in Skullgirls.

Please look at the image closely, I spent a decent amount of time on some small details.

Dahlia has turned to Psychological Warfare.

This is what happens when Dahlia actually runs out of ammo.

Art credits go to Chokorolla and Drawdrick, respectively. You can find both of them on Twitter

In case you either don't know or forget who the Reinors are or what Their heirlooms are, go to either Parasoul's or Umbrella's wiki pages, and you should find out.

Ok, for clarification, I am not asking about the Last Hope. I am specifically asking about the things they are named after.

Because that 2 holidays (Christmas and Easter) of Christian origin in a world where Christianity or any other Abrahamic religion never existed (sorry to U/Bush_420).

Another two holidays made in Honor of Saints (St. Patrick and Valentines) that could easily be named after in-universe saints of a different religion (Trinitism).

Then there Halloween, which was mainly just folks trying to appease the spirits of the dead. In this case, it wouldn't be hard to swap out the Irish for another fictional nation.

So, how were these holidays conceived in universe? What other holidays (real or fictional) could exist in the world, and what origin would those holidays have? I don't know, that's why I'm asking what you all think!

(I probably should have gotten a bunch of festive pictures of each character to better illustrate my point, but zi was already typing once I thought of that, and besides that, be a bunch of artists to credit and this post in dense enough)

So, I was browsing a certain website recently (I'll elaborate later) and found a pretty fun coincidence. There is a yokai called Dodomeki, a woman who was cursed for stealing money by having their arms extended and covered in eyes (specifically Bird Eyes), and thus, they became a monster. You know who else is a mischievous girl, a girl with arms both long and decorated with birdish eyes, Peacock!

Additionally, a character that is undoubtedly inspired by a yokai is Filia. It's a decently popular fact that Filia is inspired by the Futakucchi Onna (a woman with a mouth in the back of her head). Yet another yokai that probably wasn't in mind when Alex created Filia but still shares considerable similarities with Her is the Hari Onago.

The Hari Onago is a literal man eater. Their hair is long and ends in shape hooks that they use to kill their prey (victims often fail to notice the hook until its already too late). While Filia and Samson may not be murders (yet), they do get in fight pretty often, and what is the main weapon when they fight, the shape hook like ends of Samson/Filia's long hair.

Now, considering these yokai are rather obscure, and I haven't seen them mention in anything skullgirls related, I can confidently say that these connections are coincidences, but what do you all think?

Also, shout out to Yokai.com. It's the website where I found these freaks

Ok, first of all, the name is a combination of Ink well (bottles of ink), Ink quill (old feather pens), and Quail (a random bird) that reason Their named after Quails is because They wanted to be named after a bird, just like Peacock.

There are quite a few things about this dumb character that I would like to inform you about, assuming you give enough of a damn to learn more.

  1. This creature is made entirely of Ink, even the stuff that isn't pitch black. If you're wondering why Peacock's Inkling color palette is the second image, it's because that's the main inspiration for Ink-Quail.

  2. They are heavily inspired by all those .EXE styled parody characters you always see online (especially after FNF repopularise creepypastas). Yet instead of being some demon that traps souls in video games, They not at all evil and are simple weird and uncanny.

  3. Their are three characters that I can confidently assign mascot status to: Filia, Peacock, and Ms Fortune. Filia and Naida have their weird doppelgangers (Fukua and Robo-Fortune), but where's Peacock's?

  4. The in-universe story for why Ink-Quail would exist is that They are a creation of the Avery Unit like the rest of Peacock's gang. One night, Peacock woke up from a particularly strange nightmare and noticed a tall shadow in a corner of the room. That shadow was Ink-Quail.

So what do you all think? Did I make something interesting, or is it just another mediocre OC.
