I’ve been at my current clinic as a vet tech (not RVT) for 14 months. I make 18 CAD an hour working in Toronto, which is basically minimum wage. This is also less than what all the other techs and receptionist make. I feel really undervalued considering I do everything that everyone else does including blood work, dentals, radiographs, lab work, and all administrative duties. I’ve never asked for a raise before and not sure how to go about it. Is 20$ an hour too much of a raise? That’s close to what everyone else makes. I know the clinic owner is going to talk about how that’s too much to ask for, how can I back myself up in this situation?

If I don’t get this raise I’m planning on moving to another clinic because this is unsustainable for me. I have rent and bills to pay.

I recently received my ITA and am in the process of compiling my documents, including my pay stubs.

I noticed that my employer forgot to update my address when I moved about a year ago, so all of my pay stubs have my old address, except for my most recent one. I spoke with my employer, but they said they’re unable to change the address on previous pay stubs.

If I explain the discrepancy in a Letter of Explanation and provide the pay stubs as they are, could this cause any issues with my PR application?

My bank (Bank of Montreal) is being annoying and incompetent. They won’t include my average balance over the past 6 months in the bank letter, but they’re including everything else. They said this is how they always do it for PR applicants. What can I do in this situation? I’m not sure if attaching my bank statements would suffice.

I am planning to apply for Express Entry using NOC 32104 (Animal Health Technologists and Veterinary Technicians).

My concern is that the NOC lists completion of a 2- or 3-year animal health/veterinary technology college program as an employment/educational requirement. I do not have a veterinary technology diploma. Instead, I have a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Animal Biology.

My work duties do align with this NOC though. I regularly perform tasks such as taking radiographs, monitoring anesthesia, drawing blood, administering medications and vaccines, performing dental cleanings, assisting with surgeries, etc.

For Express Entry purposes, does IRCC require applicants to meet the educational requirements listed under the NOC, or is the focus primarily on whether the work experience matches the lead statement and main duties?

I’ve been using formation-TCF pack Ayoub to practice the TCF Canada. I’ve done about 10 samples of C.O. and have noticed the a lot of the questions are being repeated. This is annoying since I’m not being exposed to new questions. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
