How expensive it is to import an 2010 Euro 5 diesel?

Hi everyone.

Long story short: I want to import my well maintained car from Portugal to Belgium. It's an euro 5 diesel 2010 skoda octavia break 1.6 greenline. It has all the things in place, correct emissions, no cancelations, no tricks and I am not going to live in a LEZ area (and certainly I don't want / need to go there by car).

I know all the history maintenance of this car, that's why I want to keep it. Ultimately, this isn't about the car's value.

With that said, if I want to import this, how much would that be? I checked online and with IA but I don't know anyone that has done it before in Belgium to confirm me the information.

Thank you all in advance!

EGR valve cancelation vs Contrôle Technique ?

Salut à tous!

I'm preparing to import my diesel euro 5 car to Belgium. I will live far from LEZ areas, so it's ok to have this diesel. I'ts a Skoda Octavia 1.6 greenline 2010.

How far can someone go with the EGR and tires?

- My tires have 1 year old and just seem used, no deformation at all. Nothing besides normal.

- Regarding the EGR, my mechanic suggested me to cancel it. I asked if the inspectors could know if it is cancelled and he said no, if I went there with my car very hot. I wonder if he is right, because I searched and google said that they put a device in my car to check this stuff.

I just want to be cool with all this importation, but my car isn't brand new ofc, so I wonder how picky will the inspectors be regarding my euro 5 diesel car.

Anyone has advice and had some similar experience regarding importing a car to Belgium and the contrôle technique?

Merci beaucoup à tous!

EDIT: I ended up not cancelling it for obvious reasons. Thank you for the advices.

Merci d'avance !

Applying for Retrack forklift jobs from abroad (Arlon) – does it work?

Hi everyone,

I’m an experienced Retrack forklift driver (cariste retrack), used to super fast-paced warehouse environments (JIT with Volkswagen). I’m planning to move to the Arlon area in a few months. I’ll have my own car with me and I’m planning to rent a studio when I get there.

My question is: is it worth applying to local interim agencies while I’m still in Portugal? Do recruiters actually reply to foreign CVs and do Skype/Teams interviews, or is it a waste of time if you don’t have a Belgian phone number and address yet? (Ofc I would travel there to show that I can drive all these things)

If there are any forklift drivers or logistics workers in the area who did this, I’d love to hear your feedback.

Thanks!
