Shelley’s novel

I may or may not have an exam with a lot on the novel — I have questions.

Why does the creature admire Victor at the end?

What IS the overall message that this novel is trying to get across?

Would you say that Victor is an Aristotelian Tragic Hero or a Byronic hero?

Shelley’s *Frankenstein*

I’m a little new to the book, (shame me, I deserve it), and I’m sort of catching a vibe that Victor’s creation of the creature is for such.. a complex reason. I’m slightly torn.
“A new species would bless me as its creator and source.”
Did Victor want the creation of his creature to be for the purpose of slavery? Did he want to feel above something despite ALREADY being very entitled and noble in his earlier years? Is that what this book is a warning of? Slavery and overconfidence in its procedure? Yes, it’s a warning of unchecked ambition, male rivalry, but it can be interpreted in so many different ways, like a reflection of the fears that new mechanisms brought in the 19th century— okay, i’m going off topic.
I’m so overloaded with information, this book is great and I’d love more than anything to hear additional opinions. I looked at ‘The Ancient Mariner’, and how it sort of said that violation of natural and moral order is a disruption of the balance between humans and nature and I felt it was very applicable to Victor and the Romantic beliefs he failed to grasp in time.
ANYHOW.
What was Victors true purpose for his creation? Parenthood? Mere ambition and none else? To feel superior? To FEEL like he’s helping society (a bit like Walton?)
