My journey with Adenocarcinoma (1a1-1a2, pattern a, negative margins)

Hi all! I've been lurking in the sub for a while but I hadn't decided to tell my story. I'm 34, married and have a lovely 4.5 year old boy!

In Feb, 2025, I was called for pap-smear + hpv screening, randomly, from our neighborhood cancer screening center. I did not have any diagnosis or have experienced any problems before. So I didn't expect anything, I went and forgot about it. A month later, they called me telling my results showed HPV 16 positive. I didn't even know what it was. Then, colposcopy followed, it was clear, only with some endocervicitis. I was told to come back next year.

Since I had hpv 16+, in my country you're now a registered gynecology-oncology patient. So, this year, I did all my tests (and took super care of myself); unfortunately, I got AIS as the result of my colposcopy. I had LEEP done (August 2026), which came back as invasive adenocarcinoma (1a1 or 1a2, depending on the doctor you ask), 3 times different pathologists examined my cells: the first said invasive, the second said AIS, and the third said invasive, again. Eventually, it is Silva pattern A and I have clear margins and clear ECC as well.

I've been trying to decide since, and my last decision is to get a hysterectomy. I was thinking of a second child, but I think pregnancy affects the immune system and I read HPV works with estrogen as well. It will be a total (simple) hysterectomy, leaving the ovaries (but taking the tubes), sampling two sentinel nodes.

Now I'm trying to decide if I should get laparoscopic or robotic. Robotic will cost me $2,000 additional fee. And I'm not sure if it's worth it.

If you have similar experience, which one did you choose?

And if you have any questions, I'm more than happy to answer.
